This Sunday 16th October, 1st Wargrave will be have its own OFCOM licensed Short Wave Radio Station, “GB6WSG” at the Hut broadcasting to the world!
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are invited to attend our JOTA (Jamboree On The Air) station which is open between 10am and 3pm. JOTA is the largest global Scouting event and takes place over the third weekend in October every year, involving over 1 Million Scouts & Guides from over 150 Countries meeting on the airwaves, and exchanging greeting messages.
The event is being organised by Pete Walsh our Scout Leader, and all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are invited to attend. No uniform required but please wear your neckers. There will be opportunities to practise morse code and talk to Scouts from all over the UK and all over the World, and this task counts towards the Communications Activity Badge.
