Monday was a very difficult day for all of us here in Finland, it was upsetting to hear about the UK Scout passing away. Our thoughts, condolences and prayers go out to the boy’s family, friends and his troop at this difficult time. We all grieved, we are all Scouts. We all look after each other.

“….On Monday morning we heard some sad news. Unfortunately in the night a UK scout passed away. We went to a special briefing for the UK contingent about the matter. We also had a moments silence with our Finnish troop. It was a very sad moment and there is now a memorial under the UK flag where I paid my respects. We also did our forest valley activity which was a bit like ‘The Apprentice” where we set up a company and made a product out of different Eco materials. In the evening we had the International Event and set up a miniature “Henley Regatta”. Finnish scouts visited our unit camp and made paper boats to race across paddling pools representing the River Thames…”
