At (and Around) the Scout Hut
The Wargrave Scout Hut is at the Recreation Ground. We’re surrounded by lots of green space to explore and have fun in. When it’s (mostly) dry and (sort of) sunny, we can be found playing outdoor games, treasure hunts and campfire cooking. We also like to support our local Community and ‘love our world’.
If it’s dark, cold or rainy, we focus on activities and badges that can be completed indoors. Creativity, exploration and experimentation are the watchwords. And food, obviously.
In the Woods
During Summer term, we are often in Bowsey Woods or at Dinton Pastures. Building dens or bug hotels, learning outdoor skills, or just exploring nature.
Away Visits
At least twice a term, we go somewhere new. Visits to the Zoo, museums, or interesting places. Time on the water. Trying new sports. Or helping those around us.
Guest Visits
We love to have guests visiting the hut to tell us all about their area of interest or expertise. We’ve had astronomy societies to teach us all about the solar system, published authors to tell us about writing stories for children, charity representatives, and much more. We are particularly keen to hear about how the Beavers can help give back to our guests by fundraising, support with activities or just raising awareness.
