Wargrave 10k – Sunday 8th June – Call for Help

Dear Parents

Every year the 1st Wargrave Scout Group help in out the Wargrave Runners hosting of the Wargrave 10k by manning the water stations. This year the race is being held on Sunday 8th June and we would be very grateful for the support of as many cubs and scouts in manning both the station at the East Lodge entrance to the Wargrave Manor and the station at the Horns pub at Crazies Hill. The Manor station is generally the busiest as as it provides water for the runner on the way out and on their return back towards the end of the 6 miles.

If you could please help out (cubs and scouts needn’t wear uniforms but if they could wear their kneckers) there will be setting up and a safety briefings at 9.30 by the lodge and the pub and generally the race is all but over by 11.30 at which point there may well be the traditional ’emptying of the buckets’ water fights.

Please do gives us a little of your Sunday morning, this is yet another example of where the Group sits firmly in the centre of the community and our help on this event is always hugely appreciated by both the organisers and the runners themselves.

Please could you reply to petecfry@yahoo.co.uk to let me know how many helpers I can expect.

Yours, in scouting

Pete Fry
